OnePlus 7 Pro: 2019’s Best Android Phone

I finally got to see the OnePlus 7 Pro in person, and I have to admit that it is beautiful. Especially that new color Nebula Blue they released. I’m a big tech nerd, and I love my Samsung phone and my Apple phone, but I have to say I might be looking at my next daily driver. OnePlus doesn’t just aim for a good quality phone; it intended to be the best android phone in the market, and they made it happen. They’re not all talk with their incredible specs and features — they’re all about performance. To Samsung, LG and Apple’s dismay, OnePlus’ flagship phone is offering what feels like years ahead of tech in one phone, and the best part is that it doesn’t start at $1,000.

For anyone that doesn’t know the specs, I’m going to give you a brief description of what they are starting with the screen that sits at a whopping 6.67 inch AMOLED display with an impressive 90Hz refresh rate and QHD+ Resolution. Similar to Samsung, the phone curves around the edges beautifully but unlike any other phone it does not have nor needs a selfie camera cut out (more on that later) and to make it even better it has a fingerprint sensor on the screen. The phone offers up to 12GB of RAM (hello! faster phone!), Qualcomm® Snapdragon™855 (Octa-core, 7nm, up to 2.84 GHz), with Qualcomm AI Engine for the CPU, and GPU Adreno 640. The battery life doesn’t stay behind with a 4000 mAh, and it includes Warp Charge 30 Fast Charging (5V/6A) which supports a type C connector.

The phone’s storage comes in two sizes 128GB and 256GB. Take it from someone who has used OnePlus devices in the past, the specs speak truth, and they will be used at their full potential.

The standard or primary camera is 48MP with an F1.6 aperture and OIS, then a 3X telephoto 8MP camera at F2.4 with OIS and an Ultra Wide Angle 16MP no OIS at F2.2 the triple camera set up that all the cool kids are raving about on their thousand dollar phones are available on this device. Now we know the camera is one of the most significant weaknesses for this phone, but considering everything else, you get with it? We can forgive it because like last year’s model, we’re sure someone will release another plugin to enhance the camera. If you’re a selfie addict don’t worry, the lack of camera cutout doesn’t mean the OnePlus doesn’t offer a front facing camera. It’s just hidden in the phone. If you want to take a selfie, the 16MP front-facing camera with F2.2 aperture will come out of the top in style. It offers the HDR toning, Face retouching, and Screen Flash.

There are a couple of downsides like the lack of IP rating for water resistance or the fact that it doesn’t have wireless charging, but overall, this phone is incredible.

The craziest thing about it is the fact that the phone starts at $699.99

Wait. What?

Yup! The best android phone value of 2019.

We know that Apple and Samsung come to mind when you think about purchasing your next big upgrade, but if you’re not afraid of stepping out of your comfort zone, then definitely give OnePlus a look.
